The History of Quordle
Quordle was created by Freddie Meyer in 2022, inspired by Wordle and Dordle. The game was later acquired by Merriam-Webster in January 2023. Initially, engineer David Mah developed the prototype, which Meyer refined. Drawing from Dordle, where players solve two grids at once, Quordle was launched in February 2022 and quickly gained a million players within weeks. Merriam-Webster's acquisition in January 2023 was celebrated by the company's president, who noted its popularity among employees and its potential to enhance their game offerings.
